Whew!
Been AGES since I last posted around here.
Busy-busy-busy.

Heya, guys, what´s shakin´?

I´ve probably already mentioned THE PHANTOM#20 that Moonstone will be releasing soon with story by Mike Bullock and art by me.

--------------------------------------//-------------------------------

In the meantime, I was approached by digital comics publisher IK COMICS who showed interest in my INFINITEENS

www.ikcomics.com

So, if you wanna follow the adventures of Nadia and her wacky crew, you know where their new home is now.

--------------------------------------//-------------------------------

Just got news from Writer extraordinaire and all around awesome Rebecca Hicks that
PROJECT ELOHIM has taken off and is soaring as I type this.

www.project-elohim.com/comics.html

--------------------------------------//-------------------------------

More Zeu stuff:

Wrapped up an 8-page story written by Tom Stillwell for the UNSCREWED anthology.

Finished the art for THE CONTINGENT#1 , a nice lil´project I´ll tell you all about once I am at liberty to disclose the juicy bits.

Finished the art for THE DOMINIUM#1 , another cool project I can´t wait to tell you all about.

--------------------------------------//-------------------------------

Right now I´m shopping around for a letterer for my 12-page HARLEKIM .
Written, pencilled, inked and colored by me, it´s scheduled to appear in the pages of an anthology to be released out here in Portugal this Fall.

--------------------------------------//-------------------------------

And that´s that for Zeu news.

Now it´s time to finish a short SHERLOCK HOLMES tale for Moonstone Books and sink my teeth on the PS2 videogame Haunting Ground to relax.
What can I say.... life´s no fun when I´m not being stalked/chased by everyone´s favorite Ice Queen/derranged wacko nutjob/poisonous cook Daniella. ^_^

The book simply didn´t sell enough copies or managed to capture the attention of mainstream readers, so plans for its publications have been terminated and there will be no issue #3.

I wanna thank everyone who helped me bring this book to life:
Joe Gentile for being THE coolest, awesome person who supported the book for so long, despite its sales shortcomings. Lori G for helping me materialise my stories. And Jim Keplinger, the magic man himself whose lettering skills gave substance to my characters´words.

I also want to thank the readers, few in number but huge in the enthusiasm with which you joined me on this short but otherwise AMAZING ride.
Thank you, guys, sailing with you was an absolute honour.

Heya, guys,

It´s official,
Just got word from Joe Gentile that Infiniteens#2 (Moonstone Books) is out tomorrow.

Packing bucketloads of heat, action, danger and excitement, the issue marks the kids´official baptism of fire by throwing them smack dab in the middle of a rescue operation gone horribly wrong.
With people shooting at them and mindless, superpowerful Event Freaks trying to eat their livers with a fine bottle of Chianti, this is the moment of truth when we find out who´s grace under fire and who breaks under pressure.

In the wise words of Chief Barnes, "Cape Ruseur´s days of peace and quiet are over, kids. Welcome to the war!"

Next time you find yourself among the wreckage of a crashlanded airship infested with superpowerful beings who are out to rape, killl and eat you (not necessarily in that order), you´ll be happy to know that you´ve got Infiniteens on speed dial.

LINK

Eighteen years ago, Mankind finally broke the Vitori-Shears barrier, opening a gate to the Rift.
What they found there would change everything forever, as our world was flooded by alien superparticles that lit the skies like a Nova.
When the light faded, MILLIONS .across the globe had been touched by this Event and in the following years, they would show the world the powers it gave them.

Today.
Mankind stands at the very brink of extintion as nothing seems to be able to stop the advance of the mindless Event Freaks, powerful humans poisoned by these superparticles.
And as the flames threaten to engulf the globe, hope is reborn anew in the tiny coastal village of Cape Ruseur, New England, where four childhood friends unite to turn the tide of destruction and fight for Life and Justice.

INFINITEENS is a superhero saga about the end of the world, a touching tale about human hearts and how the best in us can emerge in our darkest hour.
For 8 chapters you´re invited to join Nadia, Luther, Julian and Beverly in a heroic struggle to save their tiny community from an apocalyptic threat.

A struggle that started in 2000 - though anyone who knows me can trace the roots of the project WAY back to a poster of the 5 kids (yes, they were five then, Bev was a brunette called Zoe and Nadia a redhead) published in 96 in the "Heróis" magazine (Editora Abril).

In this period, I lost track of how many times I got my legs chopped off at success´arm reach, to a point where I decided to baptise the name of the scientist couple that lead mankind to the Rift, Vitori-Shears.

Today, the journey has come to an end as I have found a safe harbour and a new home for Cape Ruseur´s astounding quartet.

In October, MOONSTONE BOOKS is launching the INFINITEENS.
Readers will finally be able to follow the adventures of Nadia and her crazy bunch.
The stakes are high and in the balance is not only the fate of their little New England town, but the whole world´s.
Will they be greeted by the laurels of Vitori or smiten by the Shears of doom?
You´ll have to find out.
Join the INFINITEENS in this wild ride!
Come with Nadia and her crew, there´ll be lots of action, excitement, danger and even - dare I say it? - romance.

October promises to be a fun month.

Folks have been e-mailing me lately regarding my webcomic Silversparrow, which they have trouble finding, so I thought I´d post a "Where´s what" to clear things up.

Due to a serious lack of planning on my part, you can´t access directly the pages which I´ve been uploading in the last few months.
You´ll have to enter the galeries and access the Online Comics/Free Stuff section.
There, you´ll find the pages of Immortal Tristara which I interrupted halfway through the 2nd chapter.

You´ll have to dig a bit deeper past those B&W chapter 2 samples.
The moment you start seeing thumbnails in color, you´ve found Jessie.
Enjoy your reading and don´t forget to tell me what you thought of the story.

For all my fellow portuguese gents who visit this secret corner of the net (yes, all the three of you)...

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
May 2006 turn out to be the most prosperous, most peaceful one yet when all our projects can finally bask in the sweet, warm light of accomplishment.

We´ve been going through some harsh times lately and sometimes it seems like there is no other way but down.
The secret to surviving the experience is to realise that there´s been rough years before.
Our generations don´t hold the patent on hard times and if "less gifted" people survived them before, no reason to think we can´t.
Success is the fruit of hard labour, good timing and a silky tongue, I´ve been told.
I don´t have a silky tongue.
In fact, there´s nothing silky about me.
Anyone who knows me and my people skills can attest that me and Quasimodo were probably separated at birth.
Good timing is definitelly not my forte either. not when Wrong-Place-At-The-Wrong-Time could be listed as my home address.
No, the only thing I´ve mastered in these 34 years is the science of hard work.
You commit to something and you don´t let go until you´ve bagged it.
Just like fishing.

Is hard work alone a guarantee of success?
Not to this date.

However, in a recent conversation with my Muse with whom I entertain these dialogues at late hours in my dungeon, I´ve come across a valuable piece of information.
According to my Muse, Life is on the ropes.
She´s ruined so many projects, so many things for so many people that she can´t take much more.
Catastrophes, disasters, wars, backstabbings.... Life is literally about to fall apart, drunk. We´ve pushed her to the very brink of metahuman resistance, lads.
And when Life takes a sabbatical to address alcoholic comma - a state in which I plan to merrily immerse myself in the next coming hours... hic!-, who benefits?
The underdogs. Us.
That´s right, my friends, this is the golden chance for every single one of us who work like machines all year long without ever seeing our work mature into something palpable.

This year, I´ve reserved a place for me and anyone up for it on the shores of Oportunity Lake.
There´s no turning back, everything´s ready and waiting, line, hook and sinker: I can either drown in success or catch me one huge break.
I mean fish.

Whó´s coming?
